On one sunny, yet very windy day at Royalwood Golf Course, past Nationwide Tour Professional Bryn Parry of North Vancouver battled a field of 92 golfers to claim his first victory in 2010 on the Vancouver Golf Tour (VGT) schedule. Parry played amongst one of VGT’s strongest fields yet, which included fourteen current Canadian Tour Professionals. By shooting a solid round of 68 (with six birdies), Parry managed to dodge a sudden death play-off with rookie Canadian Tour Pro Adam Hadwin and veteran Pro Phil Jonas of Hazelmere Golf Club. With a late bogey on the short 17th hole by Jonas and Hadwin leaving his 20 foot birdie putt short on 18, Parry sealed his victory with a clutch 6-foot par putt on the 18th hole. Parry’s win earned him $1,300 and 1,500 order of merit points, vaulting him ahead of the pack on the CLEVELAND GOLF/ SRIXON CANADA VGT Order of Merit with a total of 5,050 points. With his t4th place finish, Professional John Shin moved himself into second place on the VGT Order of Merit with 3,232.50 points.
