Details Announced for 2025 GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open

[March 13, 2025] — Vancouver Golf Tour is pleased to open registration for the 4th Annual GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open, a 54-Hole Championship scheduled for June 5-7 at the world-renowned Nicklaus North Golf Course (Whistler, BC).
For the second straight year the GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open will be played as an official event on Golf Canada’s She Plays Golf Championship Series.
“We are thrilled to announce Nicklaus North as the host venue for the 4th Annual GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open from June 5-7th” stated VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. “This year’s competitors are in for a world class experience at one of Jack Nicklaus’ signature designs that has not only won several awards (including Golf Digest’s “Best New Golf Course in Canada” in 1996 and PGA of BC’s “Facility of the Year” in 2024) but has also played host to some of the biggest names in golf at the Telus Skins Game (1997 and 2005) and Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf (1998)”.

2025 GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open
TOURNAMENT CRITERIA – (100 PLAYER FIELD)
The GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open is a professional golf championship contested at Nicklaus North Golf Course (Whistler, BC) from June 5-7, 2025.
The BC Women’s Open will serve as the first of three Championships on Golf Canada’s She Plays Golf Championship Series.
The event features two separate championships:
- A 54-Hole “OPEN” Championship (June 5-7)
- Offering a $60,000 CAD purse for a field of 60 professionals and elite amateurs (min. age 13 years + and index of 4.0 or less).
- The top finisher in the 2025 GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open will qualify for the CPKC Women’s Open on the LPGA Tour, set for August 20-24 at Mississaugua Golf & Country Club.
- The top player at the end of the She Plays Golf Championship Series will also qualify for the CPKC Women’s Open (if not already qualified).
- The 54-hole event will carry official WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) points.
- There is a cut to the top 25+ ties after 36-holes.

- A 36-Hole (flighted & Senior) Championship (June 5-6)
- Open to both Senior golfers (55+years) and golfers 13 years + with a handicap range of 4.1 to 26.0.
- The max field for this event is 40 players.

ABOUT SHE PLAYS GOLF
She Plays Golf is a citywide celebration of women’s golf anchored in each host market by a $60,000 CAD professional golf championship contested over 54-holes for a field of 60 professionals and elite amateurs. These enhanced championships will be linked together to form the She Plays Golf Championship Series – recognized as Canada’s national professional women’s golf tour.
During the week of the GolfBC Group Women’s Open, Golf Canada will concurrently hold She Plays Golf Festival events for women and girls across various golf facilities in the Lower Mainland as well as in Whistler.
