VGT TOURNAMENT IN REVIEW
2017 Capital Direct Tournament of Champions

Congrats to our 2017 Tournament of Champions winner James Allenby of Langley Golf Center who topped the field at Marine Drive with a solid round of 67 (-4). Allenby bested last year’s Champ Kevin Spooner & Surrey’s Jeremy Paradis by a single shot. He collected a $2,500 winners cheque and another 1,500 points on the Srixon / Cleveland Golf Order Of Merit.
The total prize payout was $15,000 – VGT’s highest one day Pro-am payout on the 2017 schedule which allowed all 30 players to be paid out.

Allenby is having a breakout year on the VGT this year, with this his 3rd big win on the Tour after a win at the BC Match Play Pairs this spring and his 2nd win recently at the CSBA Whistler Open in June!
Special thanks to Event Chair persons John Kalil and James Pelmore for bringing the VGT onboard and to Tim Wittig of Capital Direct Income Trust for allowing us to pay our pros so handsomely at this event and celebrate our Champions!!
Final thanks to the many volunteers who came out to support the event and to the Marine Drive membership for giving up their golf club for the day. The course was in fabulous condition as it always is!!
