2016 VGT OPENING EVENT

BRAD GARSIDE OPEN – MARCH 21ST @ BEACH GROVE GOLF CLUB

For the 2nd straight year the always popular BRAD GARSIDE OPEN will be hosted at one of BC’s Premier Private courses, Beach Grove Golf Club in sunny Tsawwassen! Anyone who has not had the experience will be very impressed as the conditions at Beach Grove are some of the best all year-round!

BC MATCH PLAY CELEBRATES ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY

The BC MATCH PLAY Championship has reached a milestone birthday of 70 YEARS! To celebrate the tradition of this historic event, we are launching an official BC MATCH PLAY website (BCMATCHPLAY.COM) that will not only highlight all of this year’s exciting event activity, but we will be gathering as much information on the history of the event as we can to really commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the event. If you have any personal stories as a past player or fan of the event, please email your story to info@vancouvergolftour.com and we will add this to the collection of content for the website.

SINGLES BC MATCH PLAY EVENT ON THE HORIZON

Be on the look-out for a new SINGLES (Year-long) MATCH PLAY event coming to the VGT soon! The event will give players an opportunity to play their matches over the course of 5 months with the semi-finalists and consolation finalists being treated to a weekend to remember!! Information on this event will be found on the BC Match Play website under the “SINGLES EVENT” tab.

VGT VICTORIA & WHISTLER EVENTS IN 2016

You will see that VGT has expanded outside of the Lower Mainland once again thanks to some great support from the facilities in those regions. We will take our 2nd Annual Trip to Victoria on May 8,9th for the 2nd Annual Battle at the Bear Championship at Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa. And on Aug.17,18th we will make our first visit to beautiful Whistler, BC for a 36-Hole WHISTLER OPEN Championship at Nicklaus North Golf Resort! We look forward to releasing full details of these premier events shortly!

The Vancouver Open will act as our 5th Major of the Vancouver Golf Tour season, and will offer one of the biggest Professional and Amateur Prize purses available in a 54-Hole Championship offered in Canada thanks to the continued support of our partners Johnston Meier Insurance, C.N.A Canada and Blume Wellness. We are excited to host this year’s event back at 2 premier Lower Mainland Golf Courses, with Ledgeview Golf & Country Club hosting this year’s Charity Pro-am and 1st Round of the Championship and Pagoda Ridge playing host to the 2nd and final rounds of the tournament.

This year’s Vancouver Open will no doubt crown a worthy Champion and if it’s like any other Van Open in the past 10 years, you won’t want to miss out on what usually turns out to be a dramatic conclusion to the tournament!!

I look forward to hosting you (player or fan) over the 36 Championship events we have lined up on our Spring & Summer schedule!
