“Vancouver Golf Tour’s Final Major”
For the first time since inception the Vancouver Golf Tour is expanding its Official Tour schedule into the Northern Region of BC thanks to a great new partnership with the Lake Point Golf and Country Club and some of its premier partners.
The 2015 LAKEPOINT GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB’S Annual Invitational Charity Pro-Am will conclude the 2015 VGT Major Series on August 11th and 12th. The event is proudly sponsored by PETRON COMMUNICATIONS for the 5th straight year. Thanks to Petron’s support as well as many supporting sponsors, the event will entice some of Canada’s top Professionals to venture north and play for a $20,000 total Pro Purse with $5,000 up for grabs for top Pro spot and the top 50% of the field being paid out! A further $2,500 BONUS will be awarded to the top Professional on the 2015 VGT Majors Series Order of Merit at the conclusion of the Pro-Am.
As in past years the Petron Communications Invitational Pro-Am tournament will offer Professionals an affordable entry fee that will include a complimentary flight to Fort St. John, hosted accommodation, skins game, horse race event and tournament meals throughout the event. The Lake Point Golf & Country Club has extended invitations to the top 24 VGT Professionals on the CLEVELAND / SRIXON Order of Merit as of the end of June 11th (last VGT Major). And another 8 PGA of BC and PGA TOUR Canada Professionals will be invited from past player’s list to round out a maximum field of 32 Pros.

The Lake Point Golf & Country Club Pro-Am has been carefully slotted in an off-week for the VGT Professionals playing on PGA TOUR Canada, and follows just a few days after the VANCOUVER OPEN. So players will be able to fly up and back to Fort St. John in time to get back home and still have four days off before they fly out to their next event on PGA TOUR Canada.

Lakepoint Golf and Country Club is located on the shores of Charlie Lake, minutes from Fort St John. We were established in 1958 as a 9 hole golf course and have evolved throughout the years into Northern BC’s best. In 1974 we hired Norman Woods to design our second nine, and redesign our first. He has left a very fun and memorable tree lined layout, in a beautiful setting with great views.
