TOP 5 PRO-AM TEAMS
It goes without saying that the event each and every year the FLORA AASEN PRO-AM is run, the event serves a few great purposes:
- Engaging the corporate golf community with the top BC Pro Golfers, giving them a place and pro purse to play for!
- The obvious fun/social aspect the event provides for the amateurs to play one of BC’s Premier Golf facilities (Richmond Country Club once again set the bar to the highest with the course conditions, staff service and food & beverage presentation!)
- The most important aspect, which is never lost along the way: Raising awareness and some serious funding for the BC Alzhiemer’s Society! The past 13 years the FLORA AASEN Memorial is proud to announce it has raised over $400,000 for Alzhiemer’s research! Outstanding work!
Many people to thank along the way for making this event happen. First is your host Pro, John Aasen who keeps the event alive each and every year. And John would be first to admit that he could not do this alone, and without the support of his tireless volunteer group lead by Reg and Sally Buchinani this event would not go on! And as we all know, raising money for charity and allowing our pros to play for a significant purse does not happen without the continued support of the many sponsors on board!

The FLORA AASEN Memorial Pro-am has been an official order of merit event on the VGT now since 2008 and we are incredibly grateful for having this great event on our tournament calendar every year! Pros who have played the event have used this event as a platform to learn how to interact with corporate golfers and collect some handsome prize money on their way from the VGT to the PGA TOUR Canada, WEB.COM and PGA TOUR! And we are very proud to say this event will have helped our most successful alumni Adam Hadwin develop his game on the way to the PGA TOUR this October! Thank-you John and the whole Aasen family!
