Tournament in Review
The 32nd Annual Hadassah Wizo Charity Pro-am proved to be a hugely successful event once again hosted at one of Canada’s Premier Private Clubs, Richmond Country Club. In BC’s longest standing Pro-Am tournaments the event once again collaborated BC’s top Professional golfers with the local Corporate Golf Community.
Richmond Country Club shined its true colors for the 32nd straight year. Thanks to Superintendent Rick Scott and his amazing team, superb course conditions were offered to all 130 Professionals and Amateurs in the event. With a fairly strong wind throughout the day and just the perfect amount of firmness and speed to the greens made scoring a big challenge on the day!
At the end of the tournament, 2 Professionals came out tied for top spot. Richmond Country Club’s Nathan Leonhardt and Chilliwack Golf Club’s Chad McAdie would both separate themselves from the pack shooting 69 (-3) and walk away with $1,700 each for their play! Three shots back at even par 72 were five pros tied for 3rd, each collecting $870. Those pros were John Shin, Oliver Tubb, Richard Choi, Luke Bogdan and Richmond Country Club’s Head Pro Mark Strong!
The top 11 Pros and ties in the field were paid out in the individual Professional competition, and the pros leading their teams to the top 4 spots in the Pro-am competition also collected a bonus cheque on the day.

VGT is proud to have been a part of the Pro-am through its Live Scoring services and helping bring some of BC’s Premier Golf Professionals into the field of this historic event. The event has hosted many top Professionals in its past such as Richard Zokol, Bryn Parry, Phil Jonas and Adam Hadwin – all who have played multiple events on the Canadian Tour, WEB.COM Tour and PGA TOUR.
“We will have the honor of cheering on a minimum of four VGT Pros and alumni in just under 2 weeks’ time as they play in the 2014 RBC Canadian Open at Royal Montreal Golf Club” stated VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. Good luck to Adam Hadwin, Eugene Wong, Riley Wheeldon, Roger Sloan and the remaining VGT Pros who are attempting entry at final qualifying on July 21st (Ryan Williams, Adam Cornelson, Kevin Stinson). GO VGT PROS!!
“We are extremely grateful of the partnership we have formed with the Hadassah Wizo Pro-am over the past 7 years” states VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. “The event is undoubtedly the most organized Pro-Am in BC with the amount of volunteers and committee members working around the clock to make it a memorable day. Our Professionals really appreciate the special touch having a walking scorer with each group. It really adds a touch of class and makes our pros feel like they are out on Tour”!
“The Hadassah Wizo Pro-am is a unique event in that it serves not only as a huge fundraising opportunity for two great charities as well as helping promote the development of BC’s local Professional golfers who are aspiring to reach greater heights with their games” states VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. “We are excited to continue partnering with the tournament for many years to come to help support the charities involved and pave the path for our local golf stars on their way to the WEB.COM and PGA TOUR”.
