Vancouver, BC (July 19th, 2012) WEB.COM’S Adam Hadwin Highlights VGT’s Deepest ever Pro-am field tomorrow!
Canada’s #3 Ranked male professional Adam Hadwin makes his 2012 VGT debut tomorrow at Ledgeview Golf & Country Club at the RBC Dominion Securities Charity Pro-am.
With no tournament on the WEB.COM this week, Hadwin is back in town to rest up and get some quality time in with his friends and family, and visit his local coaches Brett Saunders and Scott Rodgers (www.saundersrodgersgolf.com). His appearance in tomorrow’s VGT event has been well received, especially from the Title sponsor of the event Royal Bank Dominion Securities. “We are extremely excite to have Adam announce he will come out and be a part of our event” stated RBC DS representative Eric Grant. “This is a very special occasion for the 120 amateur golfers (most of them associates of RBC DS) to be included in the same tournament as Adam, particularly with our affiliation with the Canadian Open and seeing Adam do so well at Shaughnessy last year!”
Coming back to his home course as a junior golfer, Hadwin will have lots of members and friends following him at tomorrow’s event. “This is a fabulous opportunity for the local golfers in Abbotsford and surrounds to come and see one of Canada’s top golfers in action” stated VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. “Adam is an amazing golfer and we are extremely proud he can come home and support a local VGT event like this”. “Adam is on the cusp of breaking through and becoming one of the top players worldwide, and it is only a matter of time before he gets his first win on the WEB.COM TOUR. He’s just too good for it not to happen sometime soon.”
And just in case anyone gets bored of watching Hadwin’s piercing drives and iron shots tomorrow they can choose from another 28 of BC’s best Professionals to watch from, as many of the top Canadian Tour Pros from BC are in the line-up tomorrow including Nick Taylor and Ryan Williams, who have both had two top 10’s in five events this year. With his track record at Ledgeview the past 15 years, VGT’s 4-time Order of Merit winner Bryn Parry will be one of the heavy favorites as well. “With this amount of talent in the field tomorrow, I’m thinking someone will shoot it in the low 60’s, and who knows, maybe another course record will be broken” states VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. (making reference to yesterday’s 58 shot by Kevin Spooner up at Capilano Golf & Country Club. Spooner is good friends with Nick Taylor, and in fact caddied for him in last year’s Vancouver Open. Who knows, maybe this will rub off on Taylor in tomorrow’s event.
Tee-off for all players is at 12:30pm in a shotgun format. Hadwin and Taylor will tee-off the 1st hole with some of RBC’s Premier executives while Parry tee’s it off the 18th tee. For a close look at the Pros in the field, click HERE. For Live scores and updates from Friday’s event, click HERE.
This is the second straight year VGT has partnered with RBC Dominion Securities in a Pro-am format. It is a fantastic event that links the best Pros in BC with one of Canada’s Premier financial services providers. RBC has entrenched themselves in the sport of golf via their Title Sponsorship of the RBC Canadian Open as well as endorsing many of the top Professionals on the PGA Tour as well as up-and-coming golfers in Canada. The RBC DS Charity Pro-am has one other major priority at hand in tomorrow’s event, and that is to raise awareness and significant funds for the Canucks Place Children’s Hospice of Abbotsford! All-in-all it should be a great day to witness some spectacular golf, comraderie and fundraising on one of the lower mainland’s premier golf courses.
Hope to see you at Ledgeview Golf & Country Club tomorrow!
Best regards,
Fraser Mulholland
