2010 VGT FALL SHOOT-OUT & SKINS GAME
Sandpiper Golf Resort
Sunday, November 7th
Tournament in Review
Fortunately for all players in the Inaugural VGT Shoot-out and Skins Game, the weather co-operated beautifully for most of the day and everyone was treated to some excellent course conditions thanks to Sandpiper’s green’s superintendant!
Congratulations go out to the winner of the OPEN DIVISION – Galen Johnston, who carded 7 birdies and a HOLE-IN-ONE on the 7th hole for a whopping 13 points, and 11 points clear of his next competitor!! Galen also collected up a total of 4 skins on the day en-route to a nice $300 payout for his fine play!
In the Amateur Net side of the tournament, it was a new-comer to the VGT scene, David Turner who ‘turned-it’ on for the day, posting a total of 10 stableford points, and taking home first place honours over VGT’s own George Sterling with 5 stableford points. In the net skins portion of the contest, it was George Sterling who shined again, taking home 3 skins out of the total 5 up for grabs, with VGT regular Tyler Smith earning two skins on the day!
Congratulations to all players on the day and thanks to Sandpiper Golf Resort for welcoming our Shoo-out event and for taking the time to get the golf course in super shape for the event! We hope to get the 2011 season off the ground with a similar event in the early part of the 2011 season before our ‘Official Schedule’ starts in the middle of March.
