VGT TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE CHANGES

March 31, 2010

Dear VGT Members:

Due to inclement weather, Ledgeview Golf & CC has re-scheduled their aeration dates from this week to April 12^th (afternoon) and April 13^th, which has pushed us into decision mode.  Having only 6 days for greens to ‘heal’ would mean conditions unbecoming of our tour’s standards, so we have made an executive decision to reverse the order of the Kings Links event and our Nickel Heating Open at Ledgeview.  We have revised the start-times to accommodate those members of our tour that would like to have the opportunity to play both of these events and the two Srixon Tour events at Beach Grove and Quilchena Golf & CC. 

Furthermore, to accommodate the Lower Mainland Srixon Tour and our Title Sponsor of our Squamish Valley event, we have altered our original May 10^th Green Room Open tournament to now be slated for Monday, June 21^st. 

The final change we have made to our schedule is moving our GUILDFORD OPEN date from Monday, June 28^th to Tuesday, June 22^nd to accommodate all VGT Tour Professionals so they can play this event and still make it to the Can Tour event in Alberta.  There is a chance we will make the GUILDFORD OPEN  a 36-hole event, June 22,23^rd, and we will announce which way we are going once Guildford hears back from an existing event they have on their calendar on June 23^rd.  Either way, we will run at least an 18-hole Open event on June 22^nd for Professionals and Championship Amateurs wanting to play in the Open against Professionals in a true Open.  There will be an Overall and an Amateur Champion crowned, but this event will not be a VGT order of merit event for Amateurs – only for Professionals.

For those VGT amateurs fretting that they cannot make it back-to-back for our events on June 21,22^nd, we will be scheduling a Guildford “Amateur Only” event on Aug. 24^th which will be a VGT order of merit event.

Open to Amateurs (0-18 factor) and Professionals

GUILDFORD OPEN
Guildford Golf Club
8am Shotgun Start
(Professionals and Championship Amateurs)
