STEPS UP ITS ROLE WITH VGT IN 2010!
Brad Garside of Paine Edmonds Law Firm
shares the same philosophy as VGT Commissioner
Fraser Mulholland when it comes to developing
local golf talent in British Columbia: ‘Build It
and They Will Come’. Since VGT’s inception, as a
partner of the Paine Edmonds Law Firm, Garside
has continued to step up his sponsorship
involvement with the MARKETPLACE IGA Vancouver
Golf Tour to help achieve this goal. Just a
couple of weeks ago, Garside started upping the
anti on PAINE EDMOND’S support by sponsoring
VGT’s top 12 player’s outfits for the Inaugural
VAN-ISLE CUP event versus the Vancouver Island
Pro Tour. The squad not only looked the part of
a professional team, but they played the part,
besting the Island’s top 12 pros by a score of
12 points to 6 in this Ryder Cup style event.
The second leg of Garside’s sponsorship comes
this Monday, March 15th at the 3rd Annual BRAD
GARSIDE/PAINE EDMONDS OPEN at Point Roberts Golf
Club. Brad has taken it upon himself to support
this event the past 3 years by injecting a
significant amount of cash and prizes to launch
the VGT season in style. This year’s event will
offer up $8,000 in CASH and PRIZES for some of
Canada’s top Touring and PGA Professionals and
competitive amateur golfers with handicap +2 to
18. In fact, the event boasts 19 past and
present Canadian Tour members, which should lead
to some low numbers at the event.
VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland expressed
his appreciation of Mr. Garside and Paine
Edmond’s continued support of the Vancouver Golf
Tour the last five years: ‘We are very lucky to
have such a supporter in Brad Garside and the
Paine Edmonds Law Firm’ stated Mulholland. “Brad
has been a huge supporter of our Tour’s
development since our inception and has really
helped us grow the game of golf in Vancouver”.
Thanks to Garside’s belief in VGT’s Mission
‘Preparing Tomorrow’s Champions’ PAINE EDMOND’S
sponsorship has vaulted from Gold level to
Diamond in 2010. The balance of PAINE EDMOND’S
sponsorship will come at VGT’s biggest event of
the year as the PRESENTING SPONSOR of the
2010 VANCOUVER OPEN. This VGT ‘Major’ on
Sept.10-12th at Vancouver Park Golf’s three City
Courses will offer the highest Professional
Purse on VGT’s schedule in 2010.
