VGT signs Odlum Brown and Vancouver Parks Golf to a 3-year partnership to ensure long-term success of the Odlum Brown Vancouver Open & Fundraising Pro-Am
Vancouver Golf Tour (VGT) is proud to re-sign one of Canada’s most trusted independent investment firms, ODLUM BROWN, to a 3-year sponsorship term as a Major Partner of VGT. Through this 3-year partnership, ODLUM BROWN will own TITLE SPONSOR rights to the VANCOUVER OPEN & FUNDRAISING PRO-AM through 2027. This announcement comes in sequence with the City of Vancouver signing a 3-year agreement to host the Vancouver Open at its three championship courses – Fraserview, Langara and McCleery in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
The 2025 Odlum Brown Vancouver Open & Fundraising Pro-Am is presented by Maui Jim Canada and Vancouver Parks Golf. The event is scheduled for August 20-24th.
As well as the flagship sponsor of the Vancouver Open, Odlum Brown will be recognized on site as a Major Sponsor of the Vancouver Golf Tour at multiple events as well as on VGT’s digital platforms and social media channels throughout the 2027 season.
“We are so grateful to have a well-known and trusted firm like Odlum Brown supporting the Vancouver Golf Tour,” stated VGT Commissioner Fraser Mulholland. “Signing a 3-year major sponsorship with Odlum Brown as our Vancouver Open Title Sponsor and having the support of the City of Vancouver to secure the Championship on its amazing public courses for the next three years, is just great for the event and the 500+ players who will compete in the Pro-Am and Championship.
Through their partnership, Odlum Brown is helping VGT build a strong foundation for the long-term success of our operations, providing thousands of golfers with a professional tournament platform to achieve success. The partnership with Odlum Brown is allowing our team to focus on our goal of providing an exceptional tournament experience and fundraising opportunity for the players in our region. Through Odlum Brown and the City of Vancouver’s support, we expect to see a meaningful impact to our fundraising goals at this year’s Pro-Am. The past 4 years alone, VGT has raised over $100,000 for player scholarships and bursaries. This year’s tournament prize purse is projected at $120,000 based on a full field – the largest Vancouver Open & Fundraising Pro-Am prize purse to date.”
“Just like we are passionate about helping our clients achieve their financial goals, everyone at Odlum Brown is passionate about supporting our communities. It’s part of who we are and have been for over 100 years,” says Odlum Brown President and CEO Trevor Short. “As Title Sponsor of the Odlum Brown Vancouver Open & Fundraising Pro-Am and a Major Partner of the Vancouver Golf Tour for the next three years, we are excited to contribute to the success of golfers of all levels and abilities across BC, and we look forward to the years of great tournaments to come!”
“We are proud to renew our commitment to hosting the Vancouver Open for the next three years,” said Dennis Luick, Supervisor of Golf Operations, Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation. “This event provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase the exceptional quality of our city-run courses to players and spectators alike. Our team looks forward to welcoming the golf community back each year and supporting the continued growth of the game in Vancouver.”
The Odlum Brown Vancouver Open is a 54-hole stroke-play championship that gives Canada’s rising golf stars an opportunity to springboard their careers onto major golf tour success. The event is open to all professional and amateur golfers with a registered Golf Canada or United States Golf Association (USGA) handicap factor of 26.0 or less. The tournament is open to players of all ages and skill levels and will include both a Men’s and Women’s Senior Title and All Abilities Championship for golfers with disabilities. The event will hold world ranking points for all eligible amateurs.
The Odlum Brown Vancouver Open commences with an Annual Fundraising Pro-Am, which takes place on Wednesday, August 20th at Fraserview Golf Course. Four amateurs will play with a top tour professional from the Pacific Northwest. The Fundraising Pro-Am event welcomes amateurs with a handicap of 36.0 and under to play with a top professional for the day. Proceeds will go directly to the VGT Player Development Fund for Bursaries & Scholarships.
The Odlum Brown Vancouver Open Championship will then officially tee-off on Friday, August 22nd at both Langara Golf Course and McCleery Golf Course. The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play championship with a cut after two days for both professionals and amateurs. Competitors will rotate between McCleery and Langara golf courses for the first two rounds, then the final round, played at Fraserview Golf Course on August 24th, will determine the 2025 Odlum Brown Vancouver Open champion and all divisional champions.
The 2025 tournament will feature four amateur handicap divisions plus both a Senior Amateur Title (55+), All Abilities Championship and Women’s Open Championship.
Spectators are welcome and admission is by donation. Donations will be accepted at the gate for all event days with proceeds going directly to support junior and amateur golf scholarship programs.
“The players love to come back to the Vancouver municipal golf courses to compete in the Odlum Brown Vancouver Open Championship every year. We’re looking forward to watching the top local and Pacific Northwest golf talent play out on the beautiful fairways and manicured greens of Fraserview, McCleery and Langara golf courses during this fantastic 3-day event,” stated Fraser Mulholland, Commissioner of the Vancouver Golf Tour.
